I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. I started tutoring about three years ago and have found it very rewarding. I understand how hard it is some students to learn in a structured environment. My own son was expelled from school during his 7th grade. At the same time my daughter was a straight A student throughout grade school, High school and college. It took my son a little longer to complete school. But with home schooling, patience and understanding he was able to complete his GED and an Associate Degree in welding.
Each person learns at their own pace and in their own style. The key to learning is the desire to succeed. Sometimes this desire takes a little longer to catch on and grab a hold of students, but with determination and persistence anything is possible.
