My comments on tutoring Algebra : I have been helping students with algebra since college. I have a BA in molecular cell biology from UC Berkeley. I have worked for large test prep companies since college.

Most tutors merely act as a solutions manual for off the shelf test prep books. I believe in providing my students a fully comprehensive curricula that covers both strategy and subject matter. Every student learns differently and at their own pace. I strongly believe in diagnosing and targeting student's weak areas.
I have enjoyed tutoring since high school. During college, I tutored college level math and chemistry. After college I worked for a large test prep company teaching SAT prep courses in various high schools.
