A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have taught in a regular classroom setting, I have found that I am most successful working one-on-one with students. I love that in tutoring I can push students to understand their gifts and thus achieve their full academic potential. I have found that with the right tutoring and guidance, any student can be successful in math. I am very patient and easygoing, and yet I expect a lot out of every student I work with. I believe that students learn best by discovering and then applying these concepts to everyday life. I know that the right teacher can make a huge difference in a student’s life, and I strive to be that teacher in the way I tutor and the ideals by which I live my life.

I love working with children. I believe that all child can learn. Some may need different way or even different materials to find academic success. I think of myself as a facilitator in the child"s learning. This is a learner-centered teaching style that is very compatible with teaching children of all ages.
I have earned two bachelor degrees, BA in Elementary Education and BA in Special Education-MR, LD, ED, which has enabled me to gain an understanding of children with special needs. In addition, I have learned extensive reading skills due to the extended course work I have taken. During the past 8 years I have tutored students in reading skills and comprehension strategies.
