I enjoy instruction very much and find that I can work with all academic and emotional levels using various teaching approaches as well as styles. Striving to make the student feel comfortable is part of my basic repertoire of teaching strategies. I know that when a student does not succeed in a typical classroom environment it is easy for the student to feel negative about learning. Our society is based on the 'cookie cutter' ideology one size fits all. So when I tutor I strive for the student to feel comfortable first. Then I observe the students way of learning and I tailor my style to fit the student. Each student has one to two modalities that they excel in when learning something new - my job is to discover which modalities best serves the student's style of learning.
