I have 24 years of teaching experience in grades 7-12. These experiences have been at public and private school settings. The subjects I have taught include various levels of mathematics, physical science, American history, world history, Spanish and physical education. In addition, I have tutored students periodically during this time span, mostly in mathematics. I have also tutored adults on occasion.
As an educator, especially in mathematics, I want my students to not just arrive at the right answer, but understand the process, as well. I want students to have a solid foundation in number theory. There are many arrays of learning styles. I personally use visually, writing, and seeing the bigger picture. First, the mind can develop a concept or help map out the ideas by seeing the picture to the learning task. Second writing helps to reinforce the concept or idea.
