A Little Bit About Me...

As an mathematics tutor I have had the pleasure of tutoring my college peers. I have worked with Hawks Learning System Program, which is an College Algebra Software thats is used by the mathematics professors at Alcorn State University. Within completing my degree I have taken higher level mathematics courses such as Calculus I, II, and III, as well as Abstract Algebra, Foundations of Mathematics, History of Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Probability, Teaching Secondary Mathematics, Number Theory, Linear Algebra, and Statistics I just to name a few. I have effective communication skills. I beleive everyone can learn something new, if you can communicate to them in their realm of experience. I always seek ways to reach such realms by giving them a frame of reference or a standard that they can relate to.
I have been a secondary level teacher for 15 years and an elementary teacher for the prior 10 years. I taught in the Chicago Public School system for twenty of those years. I have just recently graduated with my Masters from Ole Miss. I will begin my PhD in the fall. I have taught Health classes at the University for the past two years. I have much experience in math, science, and english with my past two degrees. I have tutored students in math, english, and science.
I love to work with children who are eager to learn. I know that for most children having to study is not their top priority, so I try to make it fun.
