My comments on tutoring Chinese : I'm a native speaker and have 6 years Language teaching experience. Most of my students are younger learners between the ages of 4 and 12, but I do have some experience with older students. I do offer a free 30 minute trial class for those who are interested in my services.

In China I worked in a private English training school for six years. Most of my students were bewteen the ages of 3 and 12. After my third year of teaching English I was promoted to Chinese teacher manager, which means that I wrote curriculum and trained the new teachers. In addition to teaching English I also taught our American teachers and their children Chinese. My experience is quite diverse I have taught from five different books, 2 different software programs and I have developed a lot of my own teaching material. This experience has prepared me for almost any type of student.
I believe that motivated students will learn better than bored students, especially at the younger ages. If students are interested in the class and are payinng attention then they will get more out of the class. I have several younger siblings whom I have often helped tutor. I previously worked at a group home for troubled youth and one of my responsibilities was to help them with their homework. I am more experienced with kids ages 12-18 but am able and willing to help learners of all ages!
