Tutor for the summer

I use the iPad (excellent resource) books, worksheets and materials I make to fit the situation.
I am a speech therapist with 11 years and experience. I have worked with students pre-k through 12th grade, primarily pre-k through 5th grade. When I teach, I try my best to be open minded, and to give choices to the student, rather than follow a closed-box cookie cutter curriculum. I've found it's important to find a personal way of learning for a specific student. Variety is important, because every child learns a little differently. Some kids learn by listening, others by seeing. Some kids learn only when they're making things. Encouragement and recognition when progress is attained by the student is a great incentive.
