As a student who graduated with honors from Sonoma State University in December of 2009, I was driven to achieve the highest level of excellence in education. I have earned my BA in Biology, and have taken 21 units of Chemistry, and 12 units of Math. I have also gained many hours of experience using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, while writing research papers, laboratory reports, and essays. During the last two years I have tutored in algebra, but I feel very comfortable tutoring in both science and mathematical courses.

Since graduating from Eastern Oregon University, a college known for its education programs, I have dedicated most of my adult life to teaching. I have a BS degree in secondary education with endorsements in advanced mathematics and health education. I have taught students in various settings throughout my career and have become able to adapt to different learning environments. "How many different ways can I teach a concept?" is the mentality I use when working with students. Every student learns in his/her own unique way. Being creative, adaptive, and fun are essential. I live for that "ah-ha moment" where everything clicks. It's no secret that we succeed in the things that we love doing. I love working with children and I strive to create a learning experience that engages my students. My goal is to leave my students eager to see what's in store for them in the next lesson.
I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While earning this degree I was given the opportunity to gain experience in working in various classrooms at many different grade levels. After earning my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, I lived in Germany, Ohio, and Central California while trying to figure out my place in this world. I settled for two years in Salinas, California where I taught pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry to junior high and high school students. I was an academic tutor for the Student Learning Center at CSUC for two semesters, where I attained an advanced level tutoring certificate from the College Reading & Learning Association. I have been an elementary school teacher for nearly 18 years. I taught for 7 years in Elk Creek and 10 years in Los Molinos where I currently teach 2nd and 3rd grade. I earned Glenn County Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Tehama County Teacher of the Year in 2007. I was also named Glenn County Teacher of the Week for Channel 7 News in 1999. From 1992 to 1996 I trained in study skills for the History and Geology departments at Chico State through the Equity Services Office.
