Reading, Spelling, and Phonics all go together. I have won spelling competitions throughout my schooling. Knowing basic phonics aids in spelling. Also, repetition of reading the word, writing the word, and saying the letters of the word helps in memorizing spelling words. I prefer a hybrid teaching style. I am a kenisthetic learner but when "hands on" is really not an option I (especially with mathematics) draw so that I have a visual, physical representation of the task at hand. I have never had formal experience tutoring. However Throughout my years of schooling I would participate in study groups which I see as everyone tutoring eachother. I also have two siblings, one very close in age and the other is approximately four years younger. Needless to say, I frequently helped my younger sister with her homework.
