A Little Bit About Me...

As an Iowa State graduate, I was very driven to not only achieve a great education but to actually learn the material set forth by my professors. At Iowa State I started with as a sociology major but throughout my career I was able to find additional interests and ended my tenure at Iowa State with a degree in Sociology and Political Science, with minors in Criminal Justice and Philosophy. Throughout these studies I have learned that basic logic can get around many of the learning impediments that individuals have. By getting on the same page with your students I believe that you are better able to relay the information to them in a way that they better understand. I have earned a bachelor degree in mathematics. While doing so, I have taken many educational classes that has taught the different ways kids learn. I am sure that I will be able to help these kids in their moment of need.
I truly enjoy teaching children and I know for a fact that each child learns at a different rate as well as a different way. I am sure I am able to accommodate all of these ways. A Little Bit About Me...

As a college graduate, I started my teaching career in a catholic elementary school. I taught second grade for a year and first grade for two years. It was truely rewarding to see students become fluent readers. I relocated and took a position as a special education assosciate. I worked with four special education teachers. I worked with both groups of students and individuals on their IEP progression. After that I spent 13 years as a fourth grade teacher. I taught all subject areas. Wrote curriculum, served on committees, and belonged to educational organizations.
I truely consider myself a life long learner and hope to instill that in all the students I work with. I enjoy helping students become all that they can.
