Sculpting is one of my top subjects! I am a professional exhibitting artist in the Phoenix area. I have been exhibitting my work in the First Friday Art Walks in down town Phoenix and other venues since October or 2003. In sculpture I work in a wide variety of inexpensive mediums such as polymer clay and papier mache. I also know many crafts including leather working, and weaving chain maelle so that my sculptures can be a combination of mixed media.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy working with children, primarily in the lower grades. I am patient, caring, and easy going. I strongly believe that children are most successful when they are able to learn through doing. I feel that it is very important to teach using multiple modalities rather than just speaking to a child. For me, the most exciting aspect of teaching is having the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life and teach them something that will impact the rest of their lives.
While I have been working on my Elementary Education degree I have had the opportunity to teach young children. I have over 20 years experience in classroom and substitute teaching, both in Canada and in Phoenix. Teaching is my passion. I particularly enjoy working with students in grades K through 4th. However, I have experience teaching 5th and 6th grades, as well. I enjoy working with students of all ethnic backgrounds and those with particular challenges. Over the years, I have given extra help to many students after school. It is a joy to work one-on one.
