As I grew older, I continually tutored my peers in a multitude of subjects, math being the prominent and my best subject. I have taught K for 13 years. I understand the value of one on one time, and that students are all different. Recently I spent 10 months teaching missionary children in Uganda. Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!! I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need. I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom. In the after school program and the student teaching experience I helped students with all school subjects including english, math, science, social studies and reading.
