I started my journey of learning sign language at 5 years old. The passion and fire grew even more when I discovered that USF was offering a minor in American Sign Language. From the summer of 2008, I started teaching my friends and family sign language. It grew to teaching other individuals as I progressed through the program. As of today, I am heavily involved in the Deaf community. I have continue to teach different individuals from infants to the elderly as well as hosting Deaf social gatherings every weekend. My German parents spoke (so-called "high", or proper) German at home in NY/NJ, which came in handy after we moved overseas when I was 13. Repeating 7th grade, I learned to read and write German fluently, as well as master the local dialects and sundry colloquialisms without a lingering accent. Doing so allowed me mask my heritage, enroll in higher education, and learn a trade, culminating in a long and rewarding all-encompassing painting career abroad and in the eastern US, before settling in Texas to explore telecommunications.
