As a writing center consultant, I was instructed not to spend much time proofreading student papers or reviewing small minutiae. Instead, my goal was to educate students about the fundamentals of writing papers, such as formulating a clear thesis and establishing a clear paragraph structure. As a kindergarten teacher my DIBELS scores were the highest at the mid year assessment compared to the other two kindergarten classes. As a pre-kindergarten teacher my students scored better in both IGDI's and Bracken testing then the other classroom.
