Over the years I have found math and reading/writing to be important skills and they were amongst the most useful tools I had ever learned. Though applicable to any subject, for science and math I adhere to the inquiry method. I like to combine both direct instruction and hands-on activities when teaching. I believe that allowing students to apply their learning to real-life situations helps them to both find meaning in their learning and attach the learning to a memorable experience.
