I am a certified, licensed teacher in Hawaii. I have earned 3 bachelors degrees(Business Administration, Economics, Psychology,) a masters in education, and Certificates in Education, Natural Science, Paralegal, Driver's Education, and a Professional Certificate in Education. I have been teaching and tutoring for 22 years. I have taught all core classes (Math, English, Social studies and Science, and CTE-Business/Marketing.
I love teaching. It seems children are drawn to me. I am patient and kind and love to have fun. In tutoring, I assess to where the child needs the most help and use my time where it is needed most. I believe in multiple intelligences.

Having graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a degree in English, I am eager to put my newly certified expertise to use. Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student. To be less specific, I was born to teach. I have fun doing it, and my goal is that my students have even more fun learning than I do teaching.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a wealth of experience in many different areas. I have a bachelor degree in Economics. I started to work with special needs children. This was on a volunteer basis and so I don't think I listed it on my resume. I then substituted in the public schools for elementary and secondary schools. I tutored in the community college to college students. I opened my own school and taught medical classes. I have taught ESL in South Korea for 3 years to kids and adults.
I like to incorporate heart when I teach. Every student is special and keeps teaching interesting. I believe in the ability of the learner and must help them find success. I am patient but firm. I know I am easy going and considerate and respectful of the students. I am a change agent in the lives of children. I am now a university student for the secondary school certification.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two bachelor degrees which has given me the chance to motivate other youths and kids to seek the world and don't let it end with High school. There is more to life. Granting that Education is the key to success and without education there will be no sense of direction.
I love working with kids. I believe that the kids are our future and if we adults don't help them grow up to be leaders and make better choices in their lives we will not have any sense of direction.
