A variety of methods are an important means to education as not all students experience the learning process in the same way. NLP, VAK, Multiple Intelligences, PACE system, Journaling, SuperLearning with Lazanov; relaxation tapes and tapes for particular learning needs I make myself for the students. I consider each student as "special" and work one on one with each one as I believe developing relationships is a must in all educational environments in preparation for their particular vocation. My strategy to learning unknown subjects is very close to the same way children learn to walk, by immersion. Everything we learned as children was assimilated through watching, mimicking and attempting. I believe personal experience and learning are very close and in teaching I try to keep that in mind. I find myself a very visually inclined learner and utilize that to help others learn, such as drawing or watching videos. I have found that audio learners do well when given analogies and kinesthetic learners do well with drills or acting out what they have learned all to mimic what their learning so that it might sink in better much like how when we learned to say our first words.

Though I received my degree last June, most of my teaching experience came while I was still learning. In high school, I worked as a museum docent for after-school programs - at one point trying to convince 3rd graders that M.C. Escher's life and work were as exciting as the afternoon TV they were missing. While in college, I worked for Apple computer, teaching adults in one-on-one tutoring sessions in computer usage. My method of studying for my finals was to show up to study groups not to learn the answers, but to reinforce my own learning by explaining the relevant topics to my peers. After graduating, I worked for at Apple full time before moving to the Big Island and working various jobs, most recently for a tour company.

I have a wealth of experience in many different areas. I have a bachelor degree in Economics. I started to work with special needs children. This was on a volunteer basis and so I don't think I listed it on my resume. I then substituted in the public schools for elementary and secondary schools.
