Social Studies is one of my top subjects!

I love tutoring students because through my experience I have learned that one on one time can be really beneficial to all students. Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I've been told I am very good at explaining a topic that someone has no experience with at all. I am on contract with NC States Computer Training Unit.
I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

My comments on tutoring Social Studies : In addition to my work in public policy, training in economics and statistics, I have read extensively in related disciplines (sociology, history, political science, philosophy, etc.).

I finished as an undergraduate with a major in economics, and minors in history, philosophy and religion. Next I worked for a year as a political risk analyst for a large multinational company helping them evaluate risks inherent to investing in unfamiliar environments. I found I enjoyed the work, but wanted to get more economics training with the hope of teaching economics. I moved from the for-profit company to their non-profit foundation that sponsored economic research, and spent the next 4 years evaluating grants in the area of economics, public policy, law and political science.
