English/Language Arts Tutor

While attending Texas Tech University I was employed by the Marsha Sharp Center for Student Athletes as a tutor and worked with athletes in the following subject areas: English, Spanish, Art History, History, and Political Science. I was also a summer school teacher for a non-profit organization called Shalom Readers and led a classroom of children between 6 and 8 years of age. I was responsible for planning Christian based games and learning activities for them as well as providing them with coursework that covered all basic subject areas. I graduated from Texas Tech cum laude with a degree in English and a double minor in Spanish and Electronic Media and Communications. In my experience, I do not teach but simply assist people who need it. In college I helped my friends by explaining how to correct their writing, and offering advice. I am patient and willing to help as best as I can without being condescending towards students.
