A Little Bit About Me...

I am a certified teacher from William Carey University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. My endorsments are in English and Social Studies, and I am currently working on becoming certified in Special Education. I currently work at an elementary school in a reading lab. I work one-on-one tutoring students in reading and writing skills. We use the Orton-Gillingham Method and work on building strong phonics and fluency skills.
I have always had a passion for working with and teaching children. I tend to have a facilitator teaching style by focusing on student-centered learning and activities. I am aware of all different learning styles and gladly accommodate them when working with different children. More About This Tutor...

I believe a child can learn any subject put before him/her. With the belief that a child can learn, it is my challenge to find out what style of learning best fits each child being tutored. When teaching I take the time to present materials one way, and if the student doesn't comprhend I will present it another way. My goal is to help each student meet his or her potential.
I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006 wiht a degree in Psychology. While attending USM I taught a combined class Of 3rd And 4th grades. for the past 16 years I have tutor Reading, Math, History, and basic science to children in my family and community. I also substitute teach for 3 school districts.
