I am a, recently retired teacher as of, June 2013, and have thirty one years of teaching experience, within, a variety of school settings. I have worked as a teacher in many capacities. I was a Dance Instructor at various studios, and I taught Communication Studies as a Graduate Instructional Assistant at Texas State University in San Marcos. I have more than 10 years of professional experience in a variety of occupations from tutoring, mentoring and supervising to doing extensive research, grading papers and tests, and preparing lesson plans. I have held numerous positions in the theater, media and communications field as well. I believe it is important that people learn at their own pace, and I like to give students the tools and guidance to figure out things on their own.

I prefer a more open style to assisting students, where I go over their work issues and try to spark a conversation through which I can get a better understanding of the students reasoning. I currently am a senior at the University of Cincinnati studying Computer Science. Before my freshman year I was a part of the summer bridge program as a part of Emerging Ethnic Engineers through which community service plays a large pay role. Each summer during my college career I would assist the incoming summer bridge students with their studies which include a rigorous math and science curriculum. My personal favorite topic to assist with is physics. Furthermore, during the school year we would partake in math help nights where we would assist K-12 with problems they are having in their subjects.
