I have always been a student who enjoys math and science. At a young age I participated in math competitions and clubs. As I became older I transferred that youthful facility towards my college coursework. I have learned a lot of techniques in teaching. I am currently teaching twenty hours a week to adults in High School Science, some Electives, and in Mathematics.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like starting with the given information and stepping through the processes to solve a problem. Reminding them of, or even showing them, the rules, properties, and examples in the book. I normally try to find the method that best works with each pupil, then highlight on that. I also make sure not to do the work for the student. I will sometimes come up with a similar problem to work through so they can see what's really going on within the problem.
I have tutored Algebra through Calculus I and Elementary Statistics for the last three years. 1.5 years at both Wichita State University and Washburn University. I'm currently working on a second Bachelors degree in mathematics, but this time with an emphasis in Actuarial Science. This mixes calculus, algebra, and statistics, along with some business classes, into one, keeping them fresh in my mind.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion for teaching students of all ages, especially 4th grade and up. My teaching style consists of involving the students as much as possible in the learning process because I am a firm believer that students do learn from one another - especially when one student becomes a mentor or reciprocal teacher for another.
