My comments on tutoring Writing : I love to write; whether it be an essay or a creative writing piece. I have never gotten below a "B" in college for my writing essays.

I have tutored adults for free when they have needed a good eye to evaluate their work. Many adults can not spell and have trouble building a basic sentence. I am good at proofreading and helping the thoughts to flow better. I ask a lot of questions in order to help the student understand the thought process.
I prefer the style of patience and hands on. No computers, no spell check. the only way to learn is to do it yourself.

A Little Bit About Me...

School has been the most important structure in my life since I was a kid. My parents taught me that school comes first above anything else. I took their statement very seriously. I earned a 3.9 GPA at my university with Summa Cum Laude honors. I was a dedicated student who wants to help others succeed in school. I am a babysitter, which comes hand in hand with tutoring. I often help the kids with homework when I'm babysitting. I help my old high school speech and debate team. Children all learn different, which is why I believe in using direct instruction in guiding their learning. Some children are more visual learns, while others may be more auditory. Varying the levels of teaching can allow for each child's needs to be met. I feel that I am able to adapt and change what I need to teach to meet those needs. As a Junior in college I made the decision to become a teacher. The decision was based on the observation that a majority of teachers are over worked and don't have the time to provide the individual attention some students require. I performed my student teaching at a small school called Central Heights. I taught Physical Education- grades K-8, Physical Education-Freshman Boys, and 3rd Grade-all subjects. I have always been successful at teaching children to understand and believe that they can learn anything from hitting a baseball to doing algebra.
