I love making math fun and relating it to every day life.

I have been learning and speaking Spanish for 13 years! I would argue that my understanding of grammar is better than most native speakers. I majored in Spanish at Brigham Young University. I lived in the Foreign Language Student Residence for a school year to become more fluent. I also did a couple of mission trips in Mexico and a summer internship with a local Spanish radio station. I worked as a bilingual teller at a bank for over 18 months, where I was able to practice my Spanish about half the time! I have experience as a tutor and hope to gain even more. I was a volunteer tutor to a 6th grader while at Brigham Young University. I have helped family and friends with Spanish on numerous occasions over the years. My comments on tutoring Math : I have taken College Algebra, Finance, Accounting, and more as I have a Bachelor's in Business Administration. I, however, have been a preschool teacher and substitute teacher for elementary children, and prefer to work with that age group.

I have taught Early Childhood Education since 2000 to 2002 at Angel Academy Preschool. Later, I worked with children through the Y.M.C.A of Port Huron, Michigan and Lenawee County, Michigan. I helped school age children with homework in the afternoons and during the day taught preschool. While attending junior College I tutored students struggling with math. After graduating college I began substitute teaching in Michigan for elementary school children. I became a mother in 2011 and stayed home with my children for a few years, and then went back to substituting. In 2016, I earned my certification in Missouri and have worked with preschool age and elementary age children for the past 4.5 years.
I prefer a hybrid teaching style. If a standard teaching style was working for the student then they most likely would not need tutoring.

While pursuing my Ph.D. in chemistry, I not only taught required general chemistry labs and lectures at the university I attended, I also tutored both college and high school students in various fields of math and science.
