I have always been a student who enjoys math and science. At a young age I participated in math competitions and clubs. As I became older I transferred that youthful facility towards my college coursework. Learning mathematics and science through physics gave me a rigorous understanding of mathematics and science, subjects that can sometimes be confusing to students. In recent years I have been a very vocal enthusiast of math and physics, always seeking new demonstrations to share my enthusiasm and knowledge.
I believe that a genuine interest makes the strongest foundation for education. Creativity and a sense of serious play clan create interest in "boring" subjects. I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects. In addition, I spent about four months tutoring a severely autistic child, teaching him different communication skills and helping him to form patterns.
