I student taught tenth grade for a semester during my senior year of college at West Geauga High School. This experience was very valuable and prepared me for working with students in a variety of ways. I have a degree specifically in English Education and am trained to teach and tutor in all areas of Language Arts, including reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and grammar. A Little Bit About Me...

In May of 2009, I graduate from Kent State University with a BA in English and The Writing Minor certification. As a college student, I took many courses highlighting grammar structure and the writing styles of APA and MLA. As a student, I held part time jobs as a nanny for three children and a high school athletic coach for Gilmour Academy. In these positions I was able to learn the most efficient ways to work with elementary level children and teenagers preparing for college. My role as a nanny allowed me time to help with after school activities and homework assignments, as well as teaching the youngest to read and spell.

Having taught mostly college freshmen who took my class just to fulfill a requirement, I am empathetic to the fact that all students have a subject that they do not enjoy.
