As a graduate student in the University of Texas in El Paso, I have been very interested in Multi-Cultural instruction. I have performed specialized studies in Curriculum Development and Classroom Management. I am also enrolled in a teacher certification program that has prepared me with the knowledge and experiance for classroom instruction. I have learned extensive Reading skills that promote vocabulary enhancement.
My prefered teaching style is a student-centered environment where I can facilitate the learning. I plan on using this approach as a tutor to identify specific problem areas and assist the student in overcomming these learning barriers.

I have always loved teaching. I never had a desire to divert from teaching and become a counselor or an administrator. I have taught students from kindergarten to community college. I do not have a certification in math but I have taught k-8 math in special education classes and in mainstream classes through inclusion. I am familiar with many hands-on techniques and with drawing and writing explanations of the operation that was practiced. I have taught middle school science, social studies, health and Spanish classes. I am able to support the second language learner as well as the special needs learner.
