A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved teaching. I never had a desire to divert from teaching and become a counselor or an administrator. I have taught students from kindergarten to community college. I do not have a certification in math but I have taught k-8 math in special education classes and in mainstream classes through inclusion. I am familiar with many hands-on techniques and with drawing and writing explanations of the operation that was practiced. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an MA in history as well as a BA in antropology from New Mexico State University and graduated with honors. I recently finished up the school year tutoring students in grades first through fourth. While teaching at a charter schhool, I also taught and tutored third grade students in reading and math. I have experience in teaching American History to incoming freshmen at the local community college here in El Paso, TX.
I thoroughly enjoy tutoring children on a one-to-one basis because I beleive that students progress more if they get individual attention. I get to see the students' faces light up when they "get it" and knowing that I have made some impact in their lives is very rewarding.
