I have 9 years of experience teaching high school; all courses - AP Calculus, pre-calculus, algebra 2, geometry, algebra, pre-algebra (including special needs and english learners), and practical applications. Over the last 20 years, I have tutored students in all of the above subjects as well as elementary math concepts, writing strategies, and reading recovery. I use Socratic questioning strategies and experiential learning to ensure that students understand why a concept applies rather than just memorizing formulas.
