A Little Bit About Me...

My main instrument is the violin. I have had two students total that I've taught in the past. I played in the school orchestra in middle and high school, also took private lessons at WKU. I also have played twice with the Western Kentucky University Symphony. I also teach piano, chording only. I am not classically trained on piano. I teach vocal. I also know basics on the flute that I am capable of teaching.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology from Transylvania University. This degree provided with strong math a science skills. I was also a Art History minor, in which writing and analyzing skills were imperative. I am a very well rounded individual with a lot of knowledge to share. I have been a professional musician since 1978, teaching other musicians theory, performance etc. What can I say? I grew up in a music store! I've taught guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums and piano technology. Most of my students are now professional musicians. I don't use any techniques out of any book, each person is different and their needs are also.
My father had a piano rebuilding shop and I worked for him begining at age 12, in every aspect of piano rebuilding, regulating and tuning. Do I need to say more? Over 40 years of working on pianos is more than most piano tuners have. I don't use tuning machines, God already gave me 2 on each side of my head that work much better. I could write a long paragraph of blah blah trying to impress you but over 40 years of pianos says it all.
