A Little Bit About Me...

I worked at the Tutoring Club in Folsom, CA for 1 year. I tutored a variety of age groups, mostly high school age, in mathematics up through calculus, chemistry, biology and physics. I also worked at the learning center through Humboldt State University for about a year. Other than that, I have had multiple students for private tutoring sessions since 2005. So I have about 4 years experience in tutoring overall. I obtained 5 associates degrees from American River College in May 2007. They include AS in mathematics, math/science and general science with AA in liberal arts and general education transfer. In December of 2009 I completed all requirements for a BS in Biology with a Marine Emphasis

More About This Tutor...

The majority of my experience was obtained directly from my courses of study during my collegiate career. While taking all of my Physics courses math was a very important skill to have and be able to apply in a physical sense. Communication is a skill which I obtained while working alone or in a team for research purposes. I have a little over a year of experience as a lab assistant teaching astronomy on a college level.
The key to teaching any age of student is the ability of the teacher or tutor to recognize the students level of need and their adherence to a study regiment. Some students learn best in a conventional step-by-step process, while others learn better with real world applications or a "reason" for a particular concept.
