Shakespeare is one of my top subjects!

Statement of Teaching Philosophy for Teaching Writing I think that teaching writing should be both fun and educational. If you do not have the fun aspect in it you can lose students and not reach others. I believe it is important to be a positive model for my students. I want my students to know that what they write can be perfected and publishable. I want them to know that they never have to feel as if they are not good enough even if they do not know exactly how to get the words they want to say out. All it takes is practice. Even using a voice recorder to record your thoughts and getting feedback on those thoughts can make writing the best it can be. I, personally, have never taught a class. Experienced Reading Specialist

Through the years I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of students with special needs and different abilities. I seek to find the individual's learning style and devise a plan that will fit that student. The curriculum and teaching style should fit the student, not the other way around.
I am a dedicated and experienced teacher in both ELA and Reading having taught for fifteen years in Vermont and New York State. I am looking to help students achieve their full potential in reading and writing. My family recently relocated to Waynesboro, PA for my husband's job and I miss teaching.
