My teaching style is very straigt forward. First, I determine what the student already knows about the topic. Next, I use direct instruction to relay the material to the student. I teach the student exactly what they need to know...there is no guess work involved. After direct instruction, the student will practice a few questions with my assistance. Finally, the student will complete some more questions on their own. We will review the assignment and correct any missed items.

In an attempt to reduce truancy, our agency focused on literacy and tutored children in reading (both in the school system and out in high-risk areas in the community).
