A Little Bit About Me...

When I was in school, I could always understand or figure out what the teacher was trying to get across. Some students, however, didn’t always understand what was being explained. I was the kid who would rephrase the teacher’s remarks and explain it again in a way that the other students could understand. Not all students understand things in the same way. I try to find a way to explain things so the material is more interesting and less frustrating than it is when the teacher explains it. I love the “ah-hah moments” when you realize the student just got it. I am easy going; and kids have an easy time talking with me.

I prefer one on one settings for teaching, but I have no problem standing in front of people. I use my work experience to apply what the student has learned in the classroom and instruct them how the subject is applied in today's work force. I am able to give instructions and address feedback when applicable. Although I have not taught in a formal classroom, I have held numerous professional meetings in the past for previous employers. Children tend to respond to someone who is fun and friendly, instead of a person who chooses not to connect with students in this way.
