A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is an art form that involves love, patience and understanding. Each student learns differently and requires different teaching styles. I have had students that need help being focused and I have had students who need to relax to open up the brain waves to learning. My teaching style includes evaluating each students strengths and weaknesses so that I can focus in the correct areas for each.
As a high school student, my first job was at Kumon Math and Reading Center where I helped tutor Math students for 2 years. Once in college, my tutoring experiences were limited to summers but was able to help one student pass her summer school math class so that she could graduate. In the last 5 years I have helped many students improve their grades as well as helping a student with cancer complete all of her coursework while she was out during treatment. My teaching style is Socratic in method. I have learned a large variety of techniques to help teach some of the most basic to the most advanced concepts to a large audience of students. I like to mold my teaching style to fit with each individual student. As a teacher of special-needs and emotionally handicapped children, I have learned techniques that make me a formidable teacher in any environment, so long as I am familiar with the material. I work hard for my students, and am not willing to have them do anything that I would not do myself.
I attended Northern Arizona University, whereupon I fell in love with sociology. I have a firm grasp of basic and advanced sociological concepts, specializing in historical analysis and research methods.
