More About This Tutor...

I used to hate having teachers that didn't break everything down so I was able to understand it. I tutor people by breaking the subject down and making sure they can understand the basics. Many teachers make subjects so much harder than they have to be and I like showing people the easier way to look at it.
I have just finished my first year of medical school at Nova Southeastern University. I have been tutoring starting my freshman year at my undergraduate university, FSU. I have tutored students in subjects Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physiology, Biology and Math. I love science and I love helping people understand science just like my mentors helped me.

I'm qualified to tutor or teach because I have work and trainer experience since 1984. I've worked for the U.S. government, state and local government as well as non profit organizations, and retail industry. I have been privately tutoring and teaching since 1986. I'm qualified to tutor or teach computer programming because I have a certificate in computer programming from Prince George's Community College 2004. I have been privately tutoring and teaching computer programming since 2004. My tutoring method would be to find out what specific computer language they would like to learn. Provide resources they could use with the computer program so they can see it run on a real computer.
I have a solid background in Math and tutoring kids from birth to college. I prefer tutoring using the "Coach approach" oppose to the "Expert approach". As a coach, I would focus on the student ... read more

Using Technology and Simplicity to Explain Difficult Topics

I understand A&P is a very frustrating topic at first. However, what I like to show everyone is we already come in with a great understanding of familiarity of this topic, since we live it every day. What I try to do for the topics that seem very complex is break them down into easy to understand points. For example, I discuss how blood flowing through the vessels is like water flowing through a garden hose. The water pressure is similar to blood pressure, etc. I always do my best to organize material in a thorough manner and adapt to the learning pace of the student. Additionally, despite teaching over 1,000 students in this three year span, I still learn how to teach better with the more students I work with. Lastly, I use many videos, animations, analogies, mnumonics, medical terminology and different techniques to help students learn better. They do not just memorize, they understand ... read more

Helping People Learn One Step at a Time

For the last five years of my life I have dedicated myself to exploring the different fields and ecosystems involved in marine biology. As a college freshman I started by working in a Fish Ecologist's laboratory examining otoliths to map the age, growth, and distribution of fish. From there I was accepted into an island semester program where I had the opportunity to live off of a marine reserve for six months. Before heading to the island to study marine ecosystems, I became a certified diver of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences. With my AAUS diving certification I was able to become a lead diver at the USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies on Catalina Island. On Catalina Island I was able to spend each day in the field, exploring different habitats. I focused on Ichthyology, Phycology, Pelagic and Benthic Ecosystems, and an independent project while on the i ... read more
