I have formally taught and tutors for 12 years. I believe I have been most successful because of the rapport I build with students. I hold high expectations and believe in them! I have tutored many students in math, and a few students in English in the past. I am always able to adapt to how the student learns, and help them understand the material. I have worked with students from the age of 7 to the age of 15, from elementary English to Algebra 2, I have made it so the student can understand the concepts they are learning in school.
Depending on the students learning style and the subject, my teaching style will differ. If the student is a visual learner than I will create PowerPoints and other visual aids to help them. If the student is kinesthetic than I may create a project for them to do (if the parent is ok with it), or I may have them interact more during the tutoring than with the visual learner. My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : Elementary Science and teaching is the basics and you will find "Science" in all reading materials. I like to make the subject applicable to the student by providing them an opportunity to do a hands-on-type activity. After they complete the activity they are given an opportunity to reflect and journal about what they have learned and how this can be applied to everyday life!

I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. All 10 of my years out of school have been in the education field. My first year out of college I taught at an unaccredited private school, and then at an accredited day care center. The next 7 years were at a public school.
