Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student. To be less specific, I was born to teach. I have fun doing it, and my goal is that my students have even more fun learning than I do teaching.

In college, I earned a Bachelor's degree in English literature and a minor in Hawaiian Studies. While earning a BA, I completed 60 credits of prerequisite courses in Elementary Mathematics, English, Physical Eduction, and teaching techniques. I believe that once a student can enjoy the process of learning they can begin to internalize the good study habits required for academic success. I use a constructivist teaching method and often use Socratic teaching as a means to have students thinking independently about their work.
