My teaching career began in 1972, as the first elementary school teacher in a system that had not hired male teachers in many, many years. I taught all subjects to fifth graders for 11 years. My strength lies in teaching English. In 2008, I taught ESL for one semester to people from different countries, but primarily Brazil, twice a week.
