As an adjunct instructor, I did not only lecture, but also invited guest speakers, assigned group projects, and used films and music to deliver the content of the class. I understand all students learn differently, so it was my goal to ensure that I offered a variety of techniques to present the class material. I encouraged my students to offer suggestions if they had a better idea about the method of instruction. I am also a firm believer in giving students multiple opportunities to achieve a goal, if they show initiative and are truly trying to grasp the topic.
