A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1989. My degree is in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading. I taught in the same school district for 20 years where I gained experience teaching first, second, third and sixth grade. I am currently employed as the Elementary Student Advisor with the school district that my previous school district recently merged with. My daily duties include teaching guidance classes, advising individual students, working with At-Risk students on homework, and being a liason for parents and teachers. I love my job!
I believe that every student has the privilege and desire to reach his/her learning potential and that there are many different techniques and strategies to help them reach that potential. Current MBA in Finance & Accounting Student, and owner of Start-up Company. 2009-2010 Denver CO. Organized after school program via church organization bringing in various graduate student volunteers for mathematics and English lessons, targeted for underprivileged youth trying to obtain GED's, as well as college entrance counseling.
