My comments on tutoring Bio Chemistry : Chemistry was my profession for many years.

I use the heuristic style - teach a little; now you try it! The student learns best what they learn from within. At my English boarding school, that is the way we were taught, and it worked. Also, I show them different study methods to see what works for them. I have read widely on psychology. Early on, I assess a student's best learning mode - visual, aural, spatial, numerical, verbal, etc., and play to it. While being active in drama I learned how to 'read' the hearers and viewers. Many of my former students are teachers. Sometimes they recommend students to me when their students pass beyond the teacher's comfort zone. My comments on tutoring Bio Chemistry : Medical school graduate, undergraduate chemistry major, and have tutored biochemistry courses extensively with overwhelming positive feedback.

In the short run, I make sure the student has his or her specific questions answered thoroughly and the specific concept learned. My comments on tutoring Bio Chemistry : I have a Ph.D. and M.S. in Bioengineering as well as a BS in Chemistry. My research has always been at the molecular and cellular level. I do understand biochemistry. I have both textbook and hands-on research knowledge.

As a professor of chemistry, I taught Principles of Chemistry I & II with lab and General Chemistry with lab for Engineering Majors. I taught classes both in-person and online (live). I spent more time with students, one on one and online, than I did in class. I am very comfortable tutoring online and, at the risk of sounding bragadacious I'm very good at tutoring online.
