Teaching Philosophy One’s teaching philosophy is continually evolving over time. Evolution occurs because teaching is an ongoing process. This process has brought me to develop my own personal teaching philosophy. The philosophy I have created is one that is student centered. My classrooms have become student centered. I attained my first degree in Supply Chain Management from Syracuse University in 2003. After working in that field for a few years, however, I chose to change my career path. I then went back to school at the City College of New York to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. I am happy to say that I am graduating this month (December 2010), and have not regretted pursuing this second degree at all. Through my college experiences I have completed over 220 credits in many subjects, with my strongest in the math, sciences and engineering.

Upon my decision to return to college and obtain my BS degree, it was discovered that I possessed an uncanny, natural talent involving all aspects of the studies surrounding English. Reading, comprehension, symbolism, poetry, creative writing, poise, maturitym ,ect. After that placement exam, it was decided that I did not have to take any English courses, or, I would take more advanced courses. I did choose the latter. Throughout the last 10 years, I have helped my husband, brother, all of my children, etc. I have tutored them on how to write a well developed paper on their topic of choice, and have it read showing the expertise of the writer. I possess the same talents when it comes to proper grammar. I also teach Catholisim to the 8th grade once per week for 2 hours. I prepare them for the sacrament of confirmation.
