After graduating with my BS in chemistry, I went into industry and worked as an analytical chemist. After a short time in industry, I returned to school to pursue my MS in Chemistry at the University of Hawaii. At the University of Hawaii, I had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for four years and tutor undergraduate students in all aspects of chemistry. After 12 successful years as a pharmaceutical chemist, I began taking classes at Pace University and recently I have finished my requirements for graduation in August when I expect to receive my NYS Initial Certification in Chemistry 7-12. This summer, I am teaching a SAT II Chemistry Prep class and a Pre-Algebra class at Peak Learning Center in Norwood, NJ. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. When I started working at Colchester High School in Vermont, I initially identified myself much more with the students than the teachers and staff. Back in high school, I went out of my way to rebel against the school.
