I prefer that the student understands the purpose behind learning. In order to achieve my goal, I spend quality time in talking and developing an effective communication platform. I avoid doing rote learning. Therefore I make the worksheets and lesson plan as application based as I can. Some techniques and strategies are also employed on occasions.

My style is age-appropriate: I modify my approach to accommodate age, learning level, personality and a combination of abilities and interests. My philosophy is that it is the instructor that should make adjustments on behalf of the student, not the other was around. Any good teacher can accommodate any student with the ability to understand people.

Research for Tutor Certification focused on the study and analysis of adult learning problems stemming from poor learning and education experienced of youth. I will be graduating high this coming summer of 2013. I have been in Ready, Set, Teach which is a program where we were sent out to an elementary school and was assigned a class and we taught a lesson. I have been teaching Sunday school every Sunday for the last couple of years. I had a teaching job at an after school program at an elementary were we taught a lesson, took the children to group activities, and gave them a snack.

A Little Bit About Me...

In having a science background, I have not only learned laboratory skills and reasoning skills, but I have learned how to increase efficiency, communicate in a clear manner, and write in a way that is direct and clear. I enjoy learning, and I instill that passion into my students as best I can. I grew up with a mom who is an English teacher, so I have developed good communication skills and writing skills from her.
