I believe in being hands on and visual, many students have problems in math and science because they are unable to visualize the words written in their books. I am extremly organized so that my time is best spent on the most difficult areas for each individual student.
I have a BS in Biology and Genetics from North Carolina State University. I have recently taken a refresher course in Anatomy and Physiology to go back to school for radiology. My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Can help up to high school level

I have experience in all of the fields that are listed. Most of the skills I have acquired were either through learning them during my time at school or through doing personal research because they interested me. I have done some tutoring in the computer/i.t field as a side job. Chess has been one of my favorite things to learn. My experience with chess has been a regional tournament where I made it to the last-round of the semi-finals.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. One of the most important task in tutoring is building up a students self confidence. Some students have a learning barrier due to their lack of confidence in a given subject, so I believe a part of a tutors job is to build the confidence of a student, allowing them to believe they are able to do whatever they put their mind to. I use hands on and visual learning techniques which involves draw pictures, using surrounding objects or using examples students can readily relate to. My main goal is to make it FUN. If I were to sum my "style" of teaching up, it would be "patience with determination". Perhaps my best achievment is with my wife who recently graduated from A-B Tech. Kate has always had a block toward anything mathematic. She had one course between her and graduation, college algebra! The bottom line here is that I patiently stuck through this course treatment with her to a successful completion, she completed the course and graduated with a well earned "C" or a 78%. With patience and determination shared together with the student, impediments like a dread for math can be overcome.
