through my teaching career I have had numerous workshops and professional Development in all areas in education. I have been able to combine different teaching strategies to fit the needs of my students. In Arizona I taught Fourth Grade where 80% of my studens were English Language Learners of Hispanic decent. This was a real leaning experience. I took the Dibels training which really helped my teaching techniques. Using Orton-Guillingham guidelines with the hundreds of hours of teacher training allowed my students to excel. I enjoy teaching students who have some motivation to learn, and care about their subject matter. I like to make learning fun, because I feel so many kids today take courses to build a resume, rather than because they want to take them. I also feel like there is great deal that can be learned from the student as well. I hope to help students reach their goals while having a fun experience, but at the same time becoming proficient in the subject they are studying. Teaching children has been part of my life for many years, on many levels. I am currently a full time substitute teacher for Ann Arbor Public Schools. My past experience includes teaching Pre-K, preschool, directing educational camp programming, as well as substitute teaching for various grade levels. Although a senior about 20 credits from my BS, I know I am qualified for this job. My passion for Chemistry rubs off on those around me. With a near 4.0 GPA, I always earn the top score in my class, only once did I get less than perfect on a Science test, a 99%. Students began asking for help. From my first Science course, I helped many students drastically improve their grades. Professors gave my name out to students and I have taught many each term.
