A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a camp counselor, tutor, coach and teacher. I have taught English in Ghana, preschool in Argentina and special education in the Bronx. I have taught and worked with children of all levels, ages and backgrounds. I am very strong in writing and communication, but have also taught math up to fifth grade. I have taught science and social studies up to fifth grade as well.
I believe all children can learn, but that all children learn differently. Having taught special education, I had a range of grade levels in my class. Hey there. I am a medical school drop out. I have my bachelors in biology, with minors in botany, chemistry and economics. I wandered through many subjects and interest in school. I have tutored fellow students in my undergrad and in med school. I have a good understanding of algebra, economics, chemistry, physiology and writing papers. While planning for a career in medicine, I obtained a BS in biology with a minor in Chemistry. During the application and acceptance process I was an adjunct faculty member at a local technical college. My courses taught were remedial Algebra, biology, and anatomy and physiology. During the hours between classes I was a paid Tutor in the college's learning assistance center.
I wouldn't have a "professional" description for teaching style as my education was solidly based in the sciences. However, I believe that by teaching intuitive thought processes and critical thinking skills, students can easily adapt to the tasks given be they in science or liberal arts.

At the moment, my experience is admittedly limited. I graduated with a History degree from UGA. I was a substitute teacher at Savannah Country Day School during the entire 2006-2007 school year. Since then I have enjoyed a career in sales, which I have enjoyed immensely. Both of my parents are teachers, and I hope to find a full time position for the 11-12 school year.
