I like to work one on one with books. I write out examples and explain different ways to approach a problem to help Foster different learning styles. I think it is important to be able to teach when the school systems move from books to tablets for classrooms.
I am a stay at home of a toddler. I am currently getting my associates degree in veterinary technology. I moved to Anniston about a year ago. Before I moved I tutored my brother since kindergarden. Elementary Reading is one of my top subjects! I hold a Masters Degree in Reading and have experience teaching reading from 3rd grade to 6th grade and tutoring middle school reading.

I am beginning my 14th year of teaching. I have taught from 3rd to 6th grade, with a heavy focus on Reading and Language. I also taught Adult Literacy classes and have worked as the Reading Specialist at our school which involved working with teachers on best practice in Reading Instruction. I missed my "babies" and went back into the classroom and have never looked back. I also taught the 4 modes of writing to our 5th graders in order to prepare them for The Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing.
I have a calm, loving environment in my classroom. I expect the best from my students and they never let me down. I play classical music during their work time and allow them to work in partners, groups, and individually daily.
